ACNE SCARS
03 August 2015 — 09:35

In 2007, Goodman and Baron proposed an acne scarring classification of four grades. The aggression of treatments are based on this classification.

Such tools as creams, mask, vitamins do not give the results that are able to satisfy the client.

Acne scars demand much aggressive approach to be removed.

The first grade acne scaring consists of macular, hyper- or hypopigmented marks visible to an observer from any distance. Microdermabrazion with methotherapy works to diminish the appearance of grade first acne scars.

The second grade consists of mild atrophy or hypertrophy, but can be covered by makeup or a shaved beard. Microderm, IPL photofacial, combining with mesotherapy are recommended. The number of treatments is 6 and up.

The third grade is moderate atrophic or hypertrophic scarring, not easily covered by makeup or a shaved beard in men. They can be viewed at distances greater than 50 cm and can be flattened by stretching of the skin around the scar. Only laser or new Fractional RF is recommended.

The highest grade is severe atrophic or hypertrophic scaring that is visible at distances greater than 50 cm, and cannot be flattened by stretching the skin around the scar. Fractional RF Vtouch, 3 to 6 treatments significantly diminish the appearance of acne scars. Skin will be even and light after 3-6 treatments, acne scars will look as grade 1-2 acne scars.

Acne scars treatment demands removal of the damaged collagen tissues that surround the scar area and stimulation of the cells named fibroblasts to produce new collagen. Fractional RF by Viora, named Vtouch works in such a direction. Thermal zone injuries and heat eliminated by RF waives destroy chaotic collagen around the scar and stimulate the growth of new collagen.

Downtime period is 1 to 3 days.
Acne scars treatment plan is at least 3 sessions.
